Gloucestershire County Council is one of the first public sector organisations to join the Driving for Better Business campaign, which is delivered by RoadSafe.
The council operates a fleet of 175 vehicles including cars, vans and specialist vehicles which, combined with employees driving their own vehicles, travelled in excess of 7.5m miles last year.
The council recently conducted a complete fleet operation review and introduced a raft of management measures to ensure employee safety and legal compliance.
