Kent businesses attend seminar

Businesses in Kent and Medway are this week attending a ‘Driving Business – Safely’ seminar to learn more about the new Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act, which will be introduced on 6 April.

The Kent & Medway Safety Camera Partnership is running the seminar as part of its campaign to highlight to companies their responsibilities when employees are driving in a work related capacity.

Rachel Wall, communications manager, said: “The new Act means that companies really need to get their house in order and make sure that their employees are driving responsibly. It’s not enough to just have a Health and Safety Policy to tick a box – organisations must now be able to prove that these polices are being proactively monitored or they may find themselves in court.”
