Young and learner drivers across the UK are being offered the chance to win a new car under an annual road safety competition being run by Good Egg Safety* as part of its Good Egg Drivers campaign.

The ‘Win A Car’ competition is open to young drivers aged 17-25 years, and can be entered by completing a quick online quiz before the deadline of 30 November. The winner will receive a new £12,000 Volkswagen Polo, courtesy of the Arnold Clark group.

In 2014 the winner was 19-year-old Kayleigh Edwards (pictured) from Fife who received a new Fiat 500. Kayleigh is due to take the driving test in the coming weeks and says winning the competition encouraged her to step up driving lessons.

Kayleigh said: “I am so thankful to Good Egg Drivers and I know all the advice that I’ve got from them has put me in good stead for sitting my test.

“I am starting a childcare course at college in September, so the car will be great for getting to and from there, but I’m also most looking forward to going out with my friends and being able to visit places we’ve never been before.

“Good Egg has taught me a lot about safe driving, so I know I will be a careful driver when the time comes to get behind the wheel on my own. It has also helped reassure my parents, who were clearly very nervous when I first started learning to drive.”

21-year-old Jessica Evans from Shepton Mallet in Somerset, who won the competition in 2013, said: “It was fantastic to get a new car so soon after passing my test.

“I wanted to be a good, safe driver, which is how I found myself on the Good Egg website. Reading the ‘scary stats’ really hit home some safety concerns that I may not have given much thought to otherwise.

“But the most useful tip was to adopt the ‘New Driver Pact‘ with my parents, which made a real difference when driving my Chevrolet.”
