Winners in the 2010 Fleet Safety Forum Awards included Warburtons Scotland, Applied Driving Techniques and Glasgow City Council.

More than 270 guests attended the annual awards, which were held on 1 July at Chesford Grange Hotel in Warwickshire and sponsored by the fleet management company Arval.

The awards are run by the Fleet Safety Forum, a division of road safety charity Brake, to recognise the achievements of those working in the field of road risk management.

There were 43 winning or highly commended awards in many different categories. Winners included Warburtons Scotland (Safe Vehicles Award), Applied Driving Techniques (Fleet Safety Provider of the Year) and Glasgow City Council (Fleet Safety Analysis Award).

Julie Townsend, deputy chief executive at Brake said: “The 2010 awards were a great success with record breaking level of entries and attendance.”

Tracey Scarr, fleet and road safety manager at Arval, said: “With one in three crashes involving a vehicle being driven for work, we passionately believe that road safety should remain high on the business agenda.

“Companies and drivers that actively take steps to mitigate their own road risk and that of others help to make our roads a safer place to be. ”
