Making an impact with young people

10.14 | 7 August 2009 |

Rochdale’s Impact road safety team has organised an event for young people covering a number of vehicle-related topics.

The event, organised in partnership with Greater Manchester’s Fire and Rescue Service and the TARGET Youth Support Group, covered the offence of Taking Without the Owner’s Consent and involved youngsters being extracted from a crashed vehicle.

Participants also went through a classroom-based session covering what happens to car thieves once they are in prison. A driver simulator was also used to show that driving is something that needs concentration and effort.
