Monmouthshire pupils put their best foot forward

15 pupils from nine Monmouthshire primary schools were invited to County Hall as a special thank you for their efforts in the recent Walk to School Week.

The pupils had a special visit from Lolo the Road Safety Zebra who helped the council chairman, Cllr Peter Clarke, present certificates to them.

The pupils also took part in road safety activities including using ‘beer goggles’ to try walking in a straight line, and completing a road safety quiz.  The goggles give the wearer the view that a drunken driver would have and, although great fun, the serious message was that it would be much more difficult to drive a car in these circumstances.
