Morning After 2014 plans unveiled

The team behind the Morning After drink drive campaign has unveiled its plans for 2014.

Now in its sixth year, the Morning After campaign reminds drivers of how long it takes for alcohol to pass through the body – which is much longer than most people think.

The campaign is designed to help normally responsible drivers to avoid a drink drive conviction – or worse still, cause a crash and/or casualties while over the drink drive limit.

21 road safety teams from across the UK participated in the campaign in 2013, and the campaign website received more than 78,500 visits last year – including more than 23,000 in December 2013.

The 2014 campaign will comprise four bursts of activity. A competition will run in March/April, followed by a football-related campaign in June to coincide with the World Cup in Brazil. In September/October friends and family members will be encouraged to challenge their loved ones as to whether they are fit to drive the morning after drinking, and the campaign will close with a festive morning after message for November/December.

The cost of participating is just £995 plus VAT for the full 12-month period. For this fee road safety teams will receive artwork for all four campaigns.
