Formula 1 drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg feature in a series of road safety video clips which will be available to download and use free of charge.
The Allianz Safety Facts’ films are being produced by a partnership comprising the Mercedes F1 team and its sponsor Allianz, and the German production company RTV Film & TV. Readers may need to "register" (top right on the page) to view the films.
Two video clips – on the subjects of seat belts and pedestrian safety – are already available for download and a further five will be released over the coming months.
The films feature Rosberg and Hamilton demonstrating safety facts “in a new and unusual way”.
The seat belt video shows the pair competing in a “special racing car, leading to an epic battle for first place”. Lewis Hamilton explains that wearing a seatbelt “reduces the risk of a fatal injury by 40–50% for drivers and front seat occupants, and between 25–75% for rear seat occupants”.
The pedestrian safety film shows the pair being stopped by security as they attempt to enter a track – a deja vu scenario for Hamilton after almost the same thing happened at the Australian GP earlier this season.

It amazes me that no one comments on some threads like this. I found the short films quite enjoyable and providing they get to their target audience maybe, just maybe, someone of their fame could change some minds. Maybe just one and it’s worth it.
