Two child seat safety experts are running a campaign throughout August giving free car seat advice, hints and tips across a variety of social media channels.
Julie Dagnall and Claire Waterhouse, of Child Seat Safety, will spend the next 31 days giving free car seat advice via the company’s existing Facebook and Twitter page (@carseatladies), and are also launching Pinterest and Instagram channels.
Julie Dagnall said: “Many families will be about to embark on their summer holidays or on long road trips and we thought it was an ideal time to focus attention on the safety of their children in the car.
“We plan to release one key message or tip each day throughout August and hope that parents will engage in the campaign to spread the advice far and wide by sharing with their own friends and followers and utilising the hashtags #31DaysofSummer #CarSafeKids & #carseats.”
As an example of the kind of advice the pair will be dispensing, people planning a road trip into parts of Europe, including Eire and France, are advised that the maximum height at which by law a child has to be in a car seat is higher than in the UK – 150cm compared with 135cm.
Julie Dagnall added: “In addition to the daily tips our ‘Car Safe Kids’ booklet will be made available free of charge to parents or carers who like or follow our various social media pages.
“The guide is written by parents, for parents and contains loads more help and invaluable advice about child seats, in an easy to read format.
“We will, of course, always be on hand to answer questions too.”
