Jeremy Phillips, Road Safety GB’s director of research, will also formally launch the Road Safety GB Analysts Network during the opening session. The Network has been established to connect professionals in facilitated regional groupings and through an online community.

For the third session, ‘Training Tracks’, delegates can choose between two workshops.

‘PEOPLE: Data for Behavioral Insight’ will feature Tanya Fosdick from Road Safety Analysis, who will look at the ‘processes and pitfalls in evaluation design’; while Deirdre O’Reilly from Highways England, will examine ‘Highways England SRN personas’.

The alternative workshop, ‘PLACE: Powerful & Predictive Data Modelling’, will feature Dr George Ursachi who will examine the ‘Generalised Linear Model’; and Dr Neil Thorpe from Transport Operations Group (TORG), Dr Lee Fawcett and Joe Matthews (both Newcastle University), who will explore ‘Predictive Modelling’.

In December, it was announced that top DfT statsman Dr Daryl Lloyd would present at the conference as part of the ‘Statistically Significant Expectations’ session. Dr Lloyd will provide an update of the DfT’s work, including CRASH, research priorities and consultation outcomes.
