A new version of the Road Safety Knowledge Centre has been launched which does away with the requirement for a user to subscribe before gaining access to the site.
The new-look Knowledge Centre is also what is known as a ‘responsive design’ which means it recognizes the device being used, and offers up the site in the most appropriate format. This means the new version is much more user friendly when accessed via a smartphone.
The design also brings the Knowledge Centre in line with the Road Safety GB website which was re-launched in October.
Launched in September 2010, the ‘Knowledge Centre’ is a comprehensive online directory of road safety information and resources. It is owned and managed by Road Safety GB and has been financially supported since launch by Colas.
Access to the Knowledge Centre is free of charge and available to all. There are currently (17 Dec) 2,757 items listed in the Knowledge Centre. The Help Forum in the Knowledge Centre has received 461 help requests from subscribers, which have generated 1,838 responses.
The Road Safety Knowledge Centre received a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award in 2011 and was shortlisted for the John Smart Road Safety Award category in the CIHT Awards 2013.
