The National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) has published its 2025 calendar of operations, starting with a four week initiative focussing on the fatal four in April.
The NPCC co-ordinates a number of operations throughout the year, receiving widespread support from police forces across the country.
The most recent, in December 2024, saw all 43 UK police forces step up efforts to catch motorists who drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The 2025 calendar starts with NPCC Fatal Four Operation, which runs between 1-28 April. This focuses on criminal use of the roads.
This is followed by the NPCC 2Wheel Operation (2-15 June) and the NPCC roads policing operation (1-31 July) – named Operation Spotlight.
A second Operation Spotlight runs between 22 Sept and 5 October, this time with a focus on young drivers.
Heading into autumn, the NPCC will be co-ordinating Operation Dark Night (27 Oct – 9 Nov), focussing on pedestrians and horse riders.
As is tradition, Operation Limit – which focuses on drink and drug drivers – will run between 1 Dec and 1 Jan.
Details of all the campaigns can be found via the Road Safety GB calendar.
