Partnership launches ‘myth-busting’ campaign

14.23 | 23 February 2010 |

The Kent & Medway Safety Camera Partnership has launched a publicity campaign to ‘dispel the myths’ that surround safety cameras.

The campaign reinforces the point that cameras are only used at sites where there is a KSI history, and that the partnership considers the most successful cameras to be those that don’t generate tickets because no-one is breaking the speed limit.

The campaign includes A1 size posters/boards at fixed camera sites, bus stop posters in close proximity to camera sites, a PR campaign, mailshots and a ‘share your views’ survey and competition.

Independent pre- and post- campaign surveys are being used to measure awareness of the messages, and any shift in public perception.
