Road safety practitioners attending ICE Live later this year will learn how to develop and evaluate evidence-based virtual reality (VR) interventions.
This is courtesy of a presentation from Liz Box, research director at the RAC Foundation, which is among the most recent to be added to the agenda.
The use of VR as a means of engaging participants in educational initiatives is growing.
Liz says to make the best use of this immersive technology, it is vital that interventions are designed with reference to the latest behavioural science and are robustly evaluated.
Her presentation will outline what steps should be taken to design an evidence-based intervention as well as the types of evaluation designs and questions VR providers could consider using to assess the effectiveness of their programmes.
Also confirmed to speak at the event is Dominic Champion from SystemActive, a leading supplier of virtual and mixed reality hardware.
Dominic’s presentation will look at what immersive technology hardware is and the role it plays in delivering immersive education or training.
It will also look at how headset technology is likely to evolve, so practitioners can futureproof their investment in this technology.
