A TV production company has won a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award for the ‘CBBC Driving Academy’ programme.

The series, produced by Lucky Day Productions, features parents and their children learning about road safety and safe driving.

In the programme, four teams – comprising a child and their parent – were pitched against each other in a number of road safety related tasks. The show was hosted by actor Joe Swash and Sandra Dodson, deputy chief driving examiner with the DSA, assumed the role of Driving Academy chief examiner.

The programme also included road safety demonstrations and a quiz on the Highway Code.

The Lucky Day Productions team collected its award at the PMIRSA ceremony at the Savoy Hotel in London on 11 December.
