The Road Safety GB twitter feed has gained another 1,000 followers in the past three months bringing the total to just over 8,000.
The Road Safety GB twitter feed is managed by Iain Temperton and Matt Staton, road safety team leaders for Norfolk and Cambridgeshire respectively.
The feed had 3,000 followers in March 2013 but by August 2014 this number had increased to more than 7,000 – and the number topped 8,000 earlier this week (10 Dec).
Iain Temperton and Matt Staton also delivered a presentation at the 2014 National Road Safety Conference in November last month, during which they outlined the pros and cons of using social media in a professional capacity. They also looked at the contrast between using social media as an individual, a local road safety team/partnership and a national organization, and offered some useful tools to make life a bit easier.
While not professing to be experts in the use of social media, Iain and Matt both have a number of years’ experience using various platforms in a personal and professional capacity, including managing the Road Safety GB twitter feed since its inception in February 2010.
