RoadPeace has announced it is partnering with Uber to provide support to riders and drivers who have been involved in road crashes.
Uber has been providing services such as ride-hailing and food delivery across the UK since 2012.
It now operates in more than 40 towns and cities across the country, with an estimated 60,000 drivers using the platform.
Under the partnership, Uber drivers and riders will be provided access to RoadPeace’s specialised support helpline.
Nick Simmons, RoadPeace CEO, said: “There are five deaths every day caused by road crashes and around 100 serious injuries. That is completely unacceptable.
“RoadPeace’s first priority has always been supporting victims, but support also includes campaigning against society’s tolerance of road death and injury.
“We are very pleased to be working with Uber to raise awareness and increase resources in these important areas of the charity’s work.”
Uber has also announced a partnership to encourage the reporting of Hate Crime in Leeds with Stop Hate UK.
Bex Xiao, head of customer experience at Uber, said: “The safety of the riders and drivers who use our platform every day is a fundamental priority.
“The important partnerships we’re announcing are the latest step in our drive to make city streets across the UK safe for everyone.”
Gonna be the busiest company in the world.
