To coincide with Road Safety Week, Suffolk RoadSafe has launched a campaign to encourage cyclists and drivers to “look out for each other”.
The campaign utilises the graphics and messages from the THINK! cyclists’ campaign which launched in September 2012.
As part of the campaign, the Partnership has negotiated deals with cycle retailers across Suffolk and Norfolk to enable cyclists to make savings of at least 10% on safety equipment.
The campaign also provides cyclists and drivers with tips to help them be aware of each other. Advice offered to cyclists includes: ride positively, decisively and well clear of the kerb, and avoid riding up the inside of large vehicles where you might not be seen.
Among the advice offered to drivers is: look out for cyclists, especially when turning, and use your indicators to signal your intentions so that cyclists can react.
