Sandwell’s road safety team is shortly to publish ‘Santa’s safe sleigh ride’, the final book in a trilogy of stories aimed at Key Stage One children.

The first two books in the series, ‘The Green Man’ and ‘How did the chicken cross the road’, highlighted the importance of safer crossing places and using the school crossing patrol.

‘Santa’s safe sleigh ride’ serves as a seasonal reminder for children to be seen in the dark and to cross the road at safe places. The illustrations have been produced by Mark Beech whose other work includes ‘The Everyday Witch’, ‘Sir Bigwart the Brave’ and ‘Trolls on hols’.

The book costs 50p plus P&P and orders should be placed by 28 October. Sandwell’s road safety team is exhibiting at the Road Safety GB conference and ‘Santa’s safe sleigh ride’ will be on display.
