Sweet teens get the message

Middlesbrough and Stockton’s road safety teams joined forces with local radio station TFM to target teenagers attending ‘Sweet’, the under 16s club night in Teesside with average attendances of more than 2,000.

Glow in the dark wristbands featuring the message ‘Who’s Driving U Home 2nite?’ were given out and the same message was flashed onto the club’s screens during the night.

Jackie Robson, principal RSO at Middlesbrough Council said: “We want to make young people think about who they are getting into the car with, and whether they trust the person to drive sensibly – particularly young girls who are more at risk as passengers in cars with young male drivers.”
