TV ads warn Cumbria’s young drivers

09.16 | 17 July 2009 |

Two advertisements are being aired on Border TV over the summer to warn young drivers about the dangers of excessive or inappropriate speed.

The ads, produced by Cumbria Safety Cameras, are being shown on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 17 July in prime time and afternoon slots.

They are shot to appear as though they have been taken on a mobile phone. They feature a young male driver who kills his girlfriend in a car crash, and include the views of a girlfriend who is scared about dying in her boyfriend’s car.

Kevin Tea, manager of Cumbria Safety Cameras, said: “ The ads work on their own but also support educational messages being put out in the county.”
