Children in primary schools across Caerphilly County Borough have produced designs to help reduce the speed of traffic in their communities.

New 20mph zones are being introduced outside four schools in the area and pupils took part in a competition to design artwork to feature on new road signs.

The winners and runners up were invited to the council HQ to be presented with gift vouchers and examples of 20mph signs featuring their designs.

Cllr Rob Gough, said: “The pupils worked hard to create eye-catching designs and these will take pride of place in the community to help reinforce the message that speed kills.”
