World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

22.06 | 14 November 2024 |

This Sunday (17 November) marks the 2024 World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

Originally established in 1993 by Brigitte Chaudhry, founder of RoadPeace, the World Day of Remembrance has grown into a global day of reflection, remembrance, and advocacy for road safety, recognised by countries worldwide.

It is a meaningful day to honour those who have lost their lives or been severely injured in road crashes, and to stand alongside the families, friends, and communities profoundly affected by these tragedies.

The day is also an opportunity to acknowledge the essential role of emergency responders – police, paramedics, and fire and rescue teams -who are often first on the scene, providing life-saving support and compassion to victims and families in their most critical moments.

A number of services will take place across the UK to mark World Day of Remembrance on Sunday. Further details can be found on the RoadPeace website.
