There are still a few places available at the PACTS autumn conference, Driverless vehicles: from technology to policy, which is being held this Wednesday 22 October.
The conference will bring together vehicle technology experts and policy makers to explore how new technologies can best be exploited to reduce crashes, achieve casualty reductions and improve safety for road users.
David Davies, executive director of PACTS, said: “We are getting tremendous interest in the conference, but because the venue is large there are still a few delegate places available.
“The conference could not be more timely: last week the House of Lords debated manufacturing autonomous vehicles in the UK, and today (20 Oct) the Transport Select Committee is holding its first Motoring of the Future evidence session.”
The conference will be chaired by professor Pete Thomas from Loughborough University and the keynote address will be delivered by transport minister Claire Perry. Other sp
eakers include: Anders Eugensson (Volvo), Henrick Clasen (Delhi), Peter Shaw and Matthew Avery (Thatcham Research), Scott Pendry (Association of British Insurers), Ian Yarnold (DfT) and Dr Samantha Jamson (Leeds University).
Delegates will be able to ride in and/or view vehicles with varying degrees of advanced driver assistance and automation.
