Two more speakers have been confirmed for the inaugural National Data Analysts’ Conference, which takes place in London on 1 March.
Dovile Adminaite, project officer at the European Transport Safety Council (ETSC), and Bruce Walton, technical and analysis director of Road Safety Analysis (RSA) will address delegates at the one-day event.
The announcement follows the confirmation of the first two speakers, Dr Paul Hewson and Dr Daryl Lloyd.
The conference, which is being held at the Royal College of Surgeons, is being organised by Road Safety GB in partnership with Road Safety Analysis, and with support from the DfT.
It has the theme ‘joining the dots’ and is the result of a survey conducted in 2015 which captured the views, experiences and aspirations of more than 100 analysts from across the country.
Dovile Adminaite will present the ETSC’s Road Safety Performance Index (PIN) programme within the framework of the EU road safety policies.
The programme focuses on comparing EU Member States’ performance in different road safety areas, promoting best road safety practices in Europe and delivering policy recommendations and expert advice to decision makers.
Ms Adminaite is responsible for PIN publications and liaising with national research organisations as well as road safety experts from 32 participating countries to ensure that the assessments carried out within the project are based on scientific evidence and are effectively communicated to European road safety policymakers.
She previously worked on transport issues for Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the EU and in the Transport Unit at the Council of the EU.
Bruce Walton is an IT consultant specialising in training, analytical modelling and database design across several fields, including legal, actuarial and further education projects.
His experience combines development and application of sophisticated analytical techniques with expertise in Road Safety intelligence.
He first moved into road safety as an accident analyst with Thames Valley Police, before becoming Senior Data Analyst with the Thames Valley Safer Roads Partnership.
In 2009 he was appointed as Project Manager for the DfT funded MAST Online, the web-based tool which revolutionised data in road safety by combining powerful analysis of national crash data with socio-demographic insight into people involved in crashes.
