The Road Safety GB Academy (see below) has announced details of its final two online seminars for 2013, which will focus on the THINK! campaign and connecting with young drivers.

The online seminar programme, which is free for all Academy members, has been very popular since it was introduced earlier this year.

The next seminar will be hosted by James Evans, publisher of FirstCar, on Wednesday 20 November (12.30 – 13.30). James first had the idea for FirstCar while still attending sixth form, and remains publisher today. Since the first issue was published in 2004, more than 3.5 million copies have been distributed among learner and newly qualified drivers. In the seminar, James will answer Academy members’ questions about engaging with young drivers through printed and online media.

The final seminar of 2013 will be hosted by members of the THINK! campaign team on Wednesday 18 December (11.00 – 12.00), who will be online to answer Academy members’ questions about forthcoming plans and strategy for THINK! In 2014 and beyond.

Footnote:
The Road Safety GB Academy is the professional development arm of Road Safety GB. The Academy runs a monthly programme of online seminars which is available free of charge to members.

Complimentary membership of The Academy is offered to road safety practitioners employed by local authority members of Road Safety GB – up to a maximum of 10 places per authority. Applications are also welcomed from practitioners working in the private and voluntary sector, subject to meeting the membership criteria. The annual cost of membership for these practitioners is £35.
