DCC Suzette Davenport, ACPO lead for roads policing, has agreed to participate in The National Road Safety Conference later this year.

The conference is being hosted by Road Safety GB London Region at the Britannia International Hotel, Canary Wharf, 14-15 November. The event is being co-sponsored by Colas, ALCOLOCK UK, RedSpeed International, and AA DriveTech.

DCC Davenport, who is currently with Northamptonshire Police, has agreed to be a panellist in the Question Time session at the conference. She joins former transport minister Jim Fitzpatrick on the panel, and Rob Gifford, executive director of PACTS, will once again chair the session as he did last year.

DCC Davenport started her policing career with West Mercia Police and worked in a variety of roles across the Force over a 20-year period, culminating with the post of divisional commander for North Worcester.

After a short spell at the Home Office, in 2005 she was appointed assistant chief constable with Staffordshire Police and in 2007 transferred to the West Midlands, where she led for the Force on Intelligence and Neighbourhood Policing.

She was vice president of the British Association for Women in Policing for eight years and in November 2011 became the first female lead for ACPO Roads Policing.
