Campaign reminds drivers and passengers of the dangers of texting

A campaign by Pembrokeshire’s road safety team reminds drivers that texting while driving is extremely dangerous, and also illegal.

John Gobbi, county road safety education officer, said: “Young drivers in particular appear to be unaware of the dangers and think they can text and drive.

“If passengers see their driver texting they have a responsibility and should insist they stop texting – or stop the vehicle.

“The police are able check phone systems if a driver causes an accident while texting.”
