Delegate numbers for National Conference top 200

The number of people attending the 2013 National Road Safety Conference has now passed 200, and the exhibition that runs alongside the conference is also fully subscribed.

The conference is being held in Harrogate, 13-14 November. It is being hosted by Road Safety GB Yorkshire & Humber Region and is sponsored by Colas, AA DriveTech and FirstCar.

The organisers are in dialogue with the venue, the Majestic Hotel, regarding additional accommodation for delegates and to see whether more space can be made available for the exhibition.

More than 250 people attended the 2012 conference which was held in London, and it looks as though final numbers will be similar again this year.

Sally Bartrum, who is handling delegate registration on behalf of the conference committee, said: "It’s a nice problem to have, but virtually all 165 rooms we’ve booked at the Majestic have now been allocated. We are hoping to arrange overspill accommodation at another hotel close by.

"Traditionally we get quite a few bookings in the run up to the event, but if someone is thinking of coming I would encourage them to complete the delegate registration form as soon as possible.

"Also, if there are any orgaisations still thinking of attending the exhibition, the sooner we know the better."

The conference agenda is now fully populated and published on the event website.
