A crash demonstration day at a national exhibition will show how roadside structures and vehicles behave during a high-speed collision, and examine the capabilities of the latest roadside product designs.
The demonstration day will take place on 15 May at the 2014 UK Roads and Traffex Live event, at the High Energy Facility at MIRA near Nuneaton in Warwickshire.
2014 marks the 10th anniversary since the introduction of passive safety design on UK roads and the demonstration will examine how much progress has been made since then.
The live crash demonstrations will feature four high-speed collisions with a variety of road side furniture, including a restraint system.
Demonstrations of other road safety products and services will also take place outside, adjacent to the crash area and the event is endorsed for CPD certificates by both the CIHT and the IHE.
Places are free but strictly only available in advance; admission to MIRA’s premises will only be granted to those whose booking has been confirmed.
