Families asked to swap wheels for feet

15.35 | 20 January 2011 |

Medway’s road safety team is asking families to sign up to the Change4Life Great Swapathon, which encourages people to swap four wheels for two feet.

The ‘swapathon’ encourages adults and families to make simple swaps for a healthier lifestyle. Currently, around 20,000 swaps have been started across the country.

Swaps could include; carrying your shopping home rather than driving; walking instead of getting the bus or using the car; getting off the bus one stop earlier; parking further away and walking the rest of the distance.

Click here to visit the Change4Life Great Swapathon webpage, or for more information contact Medway’s road safety team.
