FirstCar makes personalised content offer to road safety teams

Following a series of successful pilots, FirstCar is offering road safety teams the opportunity to add personalised content to the magazines handed out to learner drivers at test centres in their region.

FirstCar works with the DVSA to provide theory and practical test candidates with a 52-page magazine, with more than 2.1m published annually.

The personalisation offer includes a bespoke four-page centrefold section, with the content determined by the road safety team. FirstCar provides an editorial and design service to advise and produce content to the required specification.

FirstCar says that including local and regional content makes the magazine more relevant and useful to readers.

The offer includes a logo and box-out on the cover which can be used to highlight a feature in the centrefold section, such as a competition, or to promote a strap-line and/or web link.

The printed magazines will then be handed directly to every new driver by theory and practical test examiners.

James Evans, FirstCar founder, said: “Having worked in this sector for over a decade, we are acutely aware of depleted budgets and greatly reduced staffing levels.

“This unique offer takes full advantage of the channels already in place with the DVSA and requires no ongoing staff resource.

“The cost of producing the copies is covered by advertising revenue, so the only additional costs are for the design, print and binding of extra pages which works out at approximately 15-20p per copy.”
