People across the country are being offered their first taste of motorcycling in a safe and structured environment as part of an initiative designed to encourage more road users to take to two wheels.
‘Get On’ has been developed by the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA), with attendees receiving advice from a professional trainer. Attendees also receive advice on obtaining a motorcycle license and what to look for when choosing a new powered two wheeler.
MCIA says that to date 4,000 riders have taken part in Get On sessions, with 97% reporting that they enjoyed the experience.
In a press release on 2 March, MCIA announced the dates and venues for more than 40 events during 2017, with the next one due to be held in Bexley on 11-12 March.

Get On will also feature at the Daventry Motorcycle Festival (10 June), BikeFest South at Goodwood (11 June), the National BikeSafe Show at Rockingham (19 August) and Motorcycle Live at Birmingham (18-26 October).
Protective clothing is provided and attendees are offered a choice of a geared bike or a ‘twist and go’ machine. While Get On is suitable for anyone aged 14 years or older, those under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.
