Free symposium to look at young drivers’ training needs

10.30 | 7 June 2022 |

Road safety professionals are being invited to attend a free event which will strive to understand the future training needs of young drivers.

Organised by Nottingham Trent University (NTU) in conjunction with RED Driver Training, the symposium is being held on 8 July (9:30am to 4:30pm). It takes place at NTU’s Newton Building.

The symposium will look at the training young drivers feel they need. It will explore the challenges that they face – including whether they understand modern cars and their safety systems.

It will also look at how technology can advance training.

Speakers include:

  • Graham O’Brien, assistant chief driving examiner, DVSA
  • Prof Gary Burnett, University of Nottingham
  • Ian Fido, head of training, RED Driver Training
  • Prof Richard Rowe, University of Sheffield

While the event is free to road safety professionals, researchers and driver trainers – spaces are limited. Click here to register.
