Associate professor Teresa Senserrick, an internationally-renowned expert with regard to young and novice driver behaviour, will fly in from Australia to deliver a keynote presentation at Young Driver Focus 2017.

Young Driver Focus will once again be held at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall, London on 26 April 2017, and for a second consecutive year will have an international focus.

The 2017 conference was officially launched last month and there is currently an attractive early bird rate of £100 plus VAT for Road Safety GB and Academy members.

Associate professor Teresa Senserrick heads the novice road user research programme at the University of New South Wales in Australia.

Originally trained in developmental psychology, Teresa has two decades of experience in health and safety research. Since focusing on road safety in 1999, she has become internationally renowned for her expertise in young and novice driver research, particularly with regard to driver training, education and graduated licensing.

Her current work includes a focus on novice drivers and motorcyclists and disadvantaged youth and communities.

She has authored more than 200 publications, reports and presentations and been called upon to provide policy advice in Australia, the United States, Sweden and Argentina.

She is also an associate editor of the journal BMC Public Health, and has been a supervisor and mentor of PhD candidates since 2008.

Teresa Senserrick will follow in the footsteps of her compatriot Ben Haythorpe from the  Royal Automobile Association of South Australia, who addressed delegates at Young Driver Focus 2016.

Young Driver Focus 2017
Now in its fourth year, Young Driver Focus (YDF) examines current and future thinking with regard to the challenge of reducing crashes and casualties caused by the high-risk young drivers. It is intended to benefit both private and public sector road safety professionals.

YDF 2017 is jointly organised by Road Safety GB, FirstCar and the RAC Foundation and is sponsored by the young driver insurer, ingenie.

The ‘early bird’ fee to attend Young Driver Focus 2017 is £100 plus VAT for the first 50 Road Safety GB and Academy members to register. The fee for others from the public sector is £125 and for other attendees £175 (both plus VAT).

Young Driver Focus 2016 sold out well in advance and with a limit of 200 places the 2017 event is once again expected to be fully subscribed.
