Local authorities could benefit from speeding system

14.47 | 22 September 2011 |

A system which displays the speed limit, and number plates of cars travelling above the limit, has been developed as a new non-enforcement tool to help local authorities tackle speeding motorists.

The ‘Suilvision Casualty Reduction System’ has been developed in house (by Suilvision) and is already being utilised in one London borough and in the West Midlands.

A Variable Message System is programmed to display the speed limit of the road and the vehicle number plate should a motorist exceed the limit. The data is available to the local authority for analysis and reporting.

For more information contact Jim Barnard at Suilvision on 0161 684 2317.
