Liz Brooker, road safety and sustainable transport manager for Lewisham Council, and Jan Deans, CEO of Dynamic Group, will deliver a joint presentation entitled ‘Road Safety on a Shoestring’ at the National Road Safety Conference 2012.

The conference is being hosted by Road Safety GB London Region at the Britannia International Hotel, Canary Wharf, 14-15 November. The event is co-sponsored by Colas, RedSpeed International, Alcolock UK and AA DriveTech.

Using the new ‘Good Egg Guide for Parents of New Drivers’ as a case study, Liz and Jan will outline how it is possible to run an effective young driver social marketing initiative on behalf of Road Safety GB’s members, while requiring minimal amounts of their time/investment – with the support of like-minded private sector partners: the Arnold Clark Group and The Co–operative Insurance.

Liz Brooker has worked for Lewisham Council for almost 30 years and currently manages the road safety, sustainable transport & travel co-ordination service.

In the past Liz has held the position of national press and PR officer for Road Safety GB and is currently press and communications officer for Road Safety GB London Group.

Jan Deans heads up Dynamic, an internationally awarded social marketing agency specialising in behavioural change campaigns in the health and road safety fields.

Dynamic is perhaps best known for the ‘Good Egg Safety’ publications which are currently distributed across the UK and soon, across Europe.

The joint presentation will give an insight into how gaining the support of like-minded private and public sector partners makes it possible to produce high quality resources, distributed free-of-charge to budget-squeezed local authorities; an excellent example of ‘Road Safety on a Shoestring’.

The cost of attending the two-day conference starts at £85 per day for day delegates and £295 for residential delegates.
