The Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety (PACTS) has launched a new free resource to help stakeholders ‘plan and coordinate’ their efforts to improve road safety.

PACTS’ ‘Timeline of Opportunities in Transport Safety’, launched on 5 April, provides dates of key events, decision points, consultations, publications and other opportunities for stakeholders to influence road safety policies and outcomes.
Each event featured on the timeline includes a brief explanation, with a link for more information.
Events are categorised using the five pillars of the ‘Safe Systems’ approach to road safety: road safety management, safe road users, safe roads, safe vehicles and post-crash care.
The timeline will be regularly monitored and updated with new information as it becomes available. Any suggestions for events or dates to be added should be sent to Laurence Atchison at PACTS via email.
David Davies, PACTS’ executive director, said: “PACTS is pleased to launch this timeline with assistance from the Road Safety Trust and Rees Jeffreys Road Fund. It is a resource available for all to use.
“The purpose is to help the road safety community and others to better plan and coordinate their efforts. We encourage more organisations to contact us with information to create multiple strands stretching further into the future.”
