Road Safety GB has announced that the 2023 National Road Safety Conference will be held at the De Vere Cotswold Water Park Hotel on 15-16 November 2023.

As well as being Road Safety GB’s flagship event, National Conference is one of the highlights of the road safety calendar. The 2022 edition in Harrogate was the first time the conference has been held since 2019, and once again more then 300 road safety professionals attended across the two days.

In the 2022 post-event survey, 96% of delegates rated the conference content as good or excellent, 94% gave the same rating to the overall event, and 98% rated the organisation as good or excellent.

Many delegates commented on how good it was to be meeting again in-person, and said how much they enjoyed and valued the networking opportunities a live event provides compared with the online equivalent.

The 2023 National Conference will be hosted by Road Safety GB South West regional group. The organising committee will meet in early January, delegate registration will open in late January/early February, alongside a call for papers once themes etc have been agreed.

James Gibson, executive director of Road Safety GB, said: “We are very pleased to announce that National Conference will be heading to The Cotswolds in 2023.

“Feedback from our recent visit to Harrogate has been excellent – and we look forward to embedding that into the planning for the 2023 event.”

Set among the villages and gently rolling hills of The Cotswolds, the De Vere Cotswold Water Park Hotel is as spectacular as its surroundings.

In the heart of the 152 lakes that spread across the unique Cotswolds Water Park, the venue is described as a place where modern design effortlessly combines with its natural surroundings.

The venue is just 20 minutes from J15 of the M4 and J11A of the M5, with Bristol airport just over an hour away. The nearest train station is at Kemble which is located on the mainline service between London Paddington and Cheltenham. A shuttle service will operate to and from Kemble station and the hotel at busy times.
