RSGB webinar to explore how DfBB can support local road safety professionals

11.20 | 5 June 2023 | |

The next webinar exclusively for Road Safety GB members will look at how the Driving for Better Business programme can help RSOs improve safety of at-work drivers.

The webinar, which takes place at 2pm on Monday 19 June, is being facilitated by Simon Turner, campaign manager for the Driving for Better Business (DfBB) programme.

Registration is now open for the webinar, which takes place on Zoom and will last for approximately 45 minutes.

DfBB is a government-backed programme, co-ordinated by National Highways, to help employers reduce work-related road risk and improve operational efficiency.

According to the DfT, there are between 500-600 fatalities each year that involve someone driving for work. The vast majority of these (four out of every five) are not the working driver but vulnerable road users such as pedestrians or cyclists.

There are also around 40,000 injury collisions each year involving someone driving for work and the vast majority of these are again likely to be vulnerable road users.

Simon’s talk will look at how DfBB can help support local road safety professionals develop strategies to engage local employers operating company vehicles, and provide resources to help those businesses communicate the importance of safe road use to their drivers.

Registration is now open – and is free for employees of Road Safety GB member organisations and RSGB Academy members only.

If you are unsure about your membership status, please register at the above link and Road Safety GB will cross check its membership database before confirming your place.
