Oliver Garvey obituary

Long serving road safety professional Oliver Garvey passed away suddenly on 17 March.

Oliver started his road safety career in Hertfordshire, where he served his apprenticeship before becoming an area RSO with Cambridgeshire. During his time in Cambridgeshire he concentrated on driver training and became an ADI.

He then moved to the position of County RSO at Gwent, where he became involved in community work and was a leading light in Road Safety Wales.

He moved to Warwickshire in 1991 as County RSO, a position he fulfilled until 1998 when he became ill. During these years he played a significant role within LARSOA, especially on the National Films Committee. Since then he has been managing Warwickshire’s graphics and promotions team and finally managing the directorate diversity and equality team.

Oliver is survived by his wife and two daughters and his funeral service will be held in St Marie’s Church, Dunchurch Road, Rugby on 31 March at 10am, followed by cremation at Leamington Spa.
