Attendees at a conference being held in February 2025 will have the opportunity to experience first-hand an innovative approach to training young and inexperienced motorcyclists.
The motorcycle simulator will be demonstrated at a one-day in person conference, hosted by Road Safety GB and focusing on the challenge of reducing motorcycling casualties, to be held at the National Motorcycle Museum near Birmingham, on Thursday 13 February 2025.
Delegate fees are £110 for Road Safety GB members and £160 for non-members, both plus VAT.

The brainchild of MPC Ian Harvey, the motorcycle simulator was developed in response to a tragic spate of fatal collisions involving motorcyclists across Devon and Cornwall in 2022.
The simulator, developed as part of the National Highways Project Apex, has no time or weather constraints – with a high level of positive engagement from bikers who have experienced it.
Using a real motorbike – a Honda CB500X – the simulator has authentic controls including brakes, clutch, throttle and indicators to replicate real-life riding conditions. The rider is surrounded by integrated video screens to provide a truly immersive experience.
All manner of road layouts, weather conditions and driving environments can be replicated in an instant – enhanced by realistic vibration, surround sound and working wing mirrors.
The custom software is designed to improve riding ability and test hazard awareness skills and can recreate any number of scenarios with no risk to the rider.
The project will undergo thorough evaluation at the end of the 12-month pilot, which will look at the effectiveness of simulated hazard awareness and the potential to use the simulator as a permanent training tool for young and inexperienced riders.
