Toolkits available for Child Safety Week

Toolkits and resources are now available for Child Safety Week 2014 (23-29 June) which will focus on the “villainous Morning Mayhem” which regularly occurs in many households across the UK.

Child Safety Week is organised by The Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT), a charity which works to reduce the number of children and young people killed, disabled or seriously injured in accidents.

CAPT says that the ‘safety heroes’ it introduced in Child Safety Week 2013 were “so mighty in their pursuit of protecting children from serious accidents, we thought they deserved an epic sequel”.

The CAPT website says: “Mornings can be particularly chaotic, which is why our theme for Child Safety Week 2014 involves the villainous Morning Mayhem.

“Campaign resources will show how small changes from ‘safety heroes’ (mums and dads, grandparents, brothers and sisters) can help defeat Morning Mayhem and the accidents he’s likely to cause.”

The campaign toolkit, which comprises a poster and 28-page booklet containing ideas to make Child Safety Week a success, can be ordered from the CAPT website.
