The Road Safety GB twitter feed has more than trebled its following in the past three years and is closing in on three of the leading road safety twitter feeds.

The Road Safety GB feed is managed by Iain Temperton and Matt Staton, road safety team leaders for Norfolk and Cambridgeshire respectively. It has gained almost 2,000 additional followers in 2015 to break through the 10k barrier on 30 July.

The feed had 3,000 followers in March 2013 but by August 2014 this had increased to more than 7,000 – and the number topped 8,000 in December 2014.

The Road Safety GB twitter feed now has considerably more followers than those operated by Road Safety Scotland, Road Safety Support, FIA Foundation and RAC Foundation, and has recently surpassed the IAM feed (9,387 followers).

Ahead of it in terms of followers are the DfT THINK! (10.7k), Brake (11k) and RoSPA (11.4k) twitter feeds.

Matt Staton said: “The Road Safety GB twitter feed has more than trebled its following over the last three years, and this has seen us build a network of professionals and interested parties from around the world.

“It has been great to see the reach of Road Safety GB grow and a pleasure to have conversations online with so many people interested in what road safety professionals across the UK are doing.”

Iain and Matt have done an excellent job in developing and feeding Twitter for us. On behalf of Road Safety GB, thank you both, gentlemen, for doing a fantastic job – and being so generous in sharing your knowledge and expertise with others too. Great work!
