A new 90-second video has been produced to explain SafetyCube DSS – a web-based tool designed to assist road safety stakeholders in their evidence based decision making.
Launched in October 2017, the SafetyCube European Road Safety Decision Support System (SafetyCube DSS) provides scientific evidence on the causes of crashes – such as road user behaviour and roads infrastructure – alongside related countermeasures.
The new video describes the SafetyCube DSS as a ‘one-stop shop’ explaining how it assesses both risk factors and measures, linking them in a ‘graphical and user-friendly way’.
Developers say the tool is a ‘rich road safety resource for every decision maker, stakeholder and expert who is involved in investigating road safety risks or reviewing safety countermeasures’.
The video explains that the tool is designed to enable policy-makers and stakeholders to implement the ‘most appropriate strategies, measures and cost-effective approaches’ to reduce road-related casualties across Europe.
SafetyCube DSS has been developed by SafetyCube – a collaborative research project with 17 partner institutions, funded by the European Commission under Horizon 2020, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.
