The Project EDWARD has announced three online events taking place in March, exploring post-collision care, young driver safety and delivery of the Road Safety Strategy.

All three events are designed to inform, inspire and connect professionals working to make UK roads safer.

The First Friday series returns on 6 March to explore what victim-focused justice looks like in the context of road policing and post-collision response.

Inspector Andrew Lavanchy of West Midlands Police leads the discussion with insights into restorative justice and structured victim contact.

He will be joined by Angela Tyler and Diana Wood from the Ely Memorial Fund, who support bereaved families while promoting safer driving for young people, and Raymond Williams of Slater + Gordon, a former family liaison officer now supporting police staff and families after collisions.

On 11 March, Project EDWARD continues its four-part series on young driver safety with Warwickshire PCC Philip Seccombe, who highlights findings from a recent workshop with 16-19‑year‑old footballers at the Aston Villa training ground.

The session explores the benefits of Graduated Driver Licensing and will also feature insights from Durham PCC Joy Allen on community engagement with young drivers.

Finally, on 19 March, in partnership with Agilysis, a free Teams symposium will examine how the Road Safety Strategy can be effectively translated into local, funded action

The day features sessions led by sector experts, with participants encouraged to join for the most relevant discussions linked to their area of work.
