A digital communications expert will divulge her top tips for connecting with new drivers at the Young Driver Focus event in May 2014.
Liz Baldock, digital communication manager for the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), has a wealth of experience when it comes to communicating with new drivers online.
Having co-pioneered a Facebook community of more than 24,000 learner drivers and driving instructors, she was one of the first communicators in Government to put their face on Twitter, and dares to push the boundaries to get the right attention.
With a public sector career spanning stakeholder relations, internal communications, marketing, events and digital, Liz has a well-rounded view of communications and how to reach an audience.
In 2012 Liz and her team won a prestigious Prince Michael Road Safety Award in recognition of their work in extending the reach of the Highway Code through new digital channels.
Liz will use her presentation to share some stories and tips for getting new and learner drivers interested in becoming safe road users.
Young Driver Focus
Young Driver Focus is a collaborative partnership between Road Safety GB and FirstCar, supported by Arval who are providing the venue, technology and refreshments. It is free to attend for Road Safety GB Academy members. The capacity is around 150 delegates and only a handful of places remain available.
The conference will look at “cutting young driver casualties now and in the future”. As this suggests the event will be forward-focused rather than a retrospective look at young driver collisions and casualties.
It will be held at The Arval Centre in Swindon (just off the M4) on Wednesday 14 May 2014, 10.00am – 3.30pm.
